Featured Placement Terms

These terms apply to clubs and coaches purchasing Featured or Premium placement on Badminton Village.

1. What Featured placement is

A paid subscription that puts your club or coach profile in:

  • Rotating homepage carousels;
  • Bold styling and priority ranking in directories;
  • Sidebar widgets on related pages (Premium coach only);
  • Other paid surfaces as we add them.

2. Pricing

Current pricing (in NZD, excluding GST):

  • Club Featured: $49/month or $490/year (2 months free).
  • Club Premium: included in the Pro subscription, no separate purchase.
  • Coach Featured: $39/month or $390/year (2 months free).
  • Coach Premium: $79/month or $790/year (2 months free).

We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers keep their current rate for the duration of any active annual plan.

3. Free trial

  • New subscribers may try Featured (or Premium, for coaches) free for 30 days, once per tier.
  • Card on file is required to start a trial. The card is not charged during the trial.
  • The trial auto-converts to paid on day 31 unless you cancel.
  • If you cancel during the trial, your placement stays active until the original 30-day end date but does not convert to paid. You can re-subscribe later (without trial).
  • If your card declines on day 31, Stripe pauses the subscription; your placement remains active for 7 days while we try to charge again. After that it ends until you re-subscribe.

4. Disclosure of paid placement

Featured placements are clearly disclosed to visitors. Every carousel is labelled “✨ Featured”, which we believe satisfies disclosure requirements under the Fair Trading Act 1986. Featured ranking does not represent any endorsement of quality by Badminton Village.

5. What we don't guarantee

  • Specific impression / click / booking volumes — we don't guarantee performance. Your insights dashboard shows actual numbers.
  • Top-of-carousel position at any given moment — the carousel rotates.
  • Continued availability of any specific featured surface — we may redesign sections of the platform.

6. What we do guarantee

  • Eligible placements appear on the surfaces specified for your tier for the duration of your paid period.
  • Insights are recorded accurately and visible to you within minutes.
  • If we have a material service outage that affects featured placements for more than 24 hours in a calendar month, we'll extend your subscription by the affected duration.

7. Cancellation

  • Cancel anytime via the “Manage Feature” page or your Stripe customer portal.
  • Your placement remains active to the end of the current billing period. We do not pro-rate refunds.
  • Annual subscriptions are non-refundable mid-term except in the case of a material platform failure as above.

8. Content standards

Your featured placement uses your existing club / coach profile details. We may refuse to feature content that:

  • Breaches our Acceptable Use Policy;
  • Contains misleading claims (e.g. fake credentials, unverified rankings);
  • Is unrelated to badminton or your service.

Sub-tagline (the short line shown in the carousel) must accurately describe your offering.

9. Click and conversion attribution

Attribution model is last-click within 7 days. If a player sees a featured impression of your club, clicks it, and books a session at your club within 7 days, that booking is recorded as attributed to the featured placement. ROI shown in your insights dashboard is based on this attribution.

Aggregated metrics shared with you are accurate to the best of our ability. We don't share row-level data identifying individual users without their consent (Privacy Act 2020).

10. Termination by us

We may end a featured placement (with refund of any unused paid period) if:

  • You breach our main terms or content standards.
  • You receive verified safeguarding complaints (especially with junior coaching).
  • Material misrepresentation of credentials.
