Booking a coach lesson
Badminton Village connects you with verified coaches near you. Book a lesson in minutes, pay securely by card, and turn up ready to improve.
How to book a lesson
- 1
Find a coach
Go to /coaches and browse by location, skill level, or speciality (footwork, smash technique, match play, etc.). Each coach profile shows their bio, rates, available durations, and player reviews.
- 2
View their availability
On the coach’s profile, tap “Book a lesson” to open their calendar. Available time slots are shown in your local time. Greyed-out slots are already booked or unavailable.
- 3
Choose a duration
Select how long you'd like — coaches typically offer 30-minute, 45-minute, or 60-minute slots. Longer sessions are often better value per minute and give more time for drills.
- 4
Pay by card
Lessons are paid at the time of booking via Stripe (Visa and Mastercard). Your payment goes to the coach directly — Badminton Village takes a small platform fee. No cash on the day.
- 5
Confirmation sent
You'll receive a confirmation email with the date, time, court location, coach contact details, and any notes the coach has added for your first session.

What to expect at your lesson
- ✓
Arrive 5 minutes early
Give yourself time to warm up your wrists and shoulders before the coach arrives. Courts are often booked back-to-back.
- ✓
Bring your own racket
Coaches work with what you have. If you're new and don't have a racket yet, let the coach know in advance — many can lend one for the first lesson.
- ✓
Shuttles are provided
The coach brings shuttles. You don't need to bring or buy any.
- ✓
Wear court shoes
Non-marking rubber-soled court shoes are required on indoor courts.
- ✓
Come with a goal in mind
Even a rough idea — “I want to improve my backhand clear” or “I’m a beginner and want to learn the basics” — helps the coach make the most of your time.
